Interior Designer — Workplace Fit-out

About the Role

We are hiring an Interior Designer in Chennai for a commercial interior fit-out and design-build firm. The role takes workplace projects from site study and design brief through space planning, scheme design, detailed GFC drawings and tender documentation, and supports the site team until handover. It suits designers with solid commercial office fit-out experience who combine creative design with strong technical detailing and code compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site studies and develop design briefs and space plans that meet statutory norms
• Develop scheme designs, including material boards, mood boards, 3D visuals and budget estimates
• Prepare detailed and coordinated GFC drawings, integrating MEP schematics
• Prepare tender documents, including specifications, BOQs, makes and finish schedules, and review bids
• Review site progress, vendor submittals, RFIs and variation claims
• Identify snags and certify project handover documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in interior design or architecture
• 5+ years in interior design, with workplace or commercial office fit-out experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong understanding of design principles, colour theory and space planning
• Excellent presentation, communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

Workplace office fit-out design for corporate clients, including tender documentation.
