About the Role
Purchase Managers in Pune lead procurement of raw materials, components and services for manufacturing operations. The role develops suppliers, negotiates contracts, controls purchase costs and ensures materials arrive on time to support production. It suits experienced procurement professionals with strong commercial skills, vendor networks in western India and a disciplined approach to purchase processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, negotiation and contracting for key categories
- Develop and evaluate suppliers on cost, quality and delivery
- Drive cost savings and alternate sourcing
- Align purchase plans with production and inventory needs
- Manage the purchase team and ERP processes
Required Skills and Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech; MBA in operations or supply chain preferred
- 7+ years in procurement, including team leadership
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Hands-on SAP MM or similar ERP experience
- Good analytical and cost-control skills
Preferred Experience
Procurement in automotive, engineering or industrial manufacturing.
