About the Role
Stewards in Chennai assist the restaurant and banquet team with basic table service, setting and clearing tables, and keeping service areas tidy. The role is designed for freshers who want to learn guest service from the ground up while working alongside experienced captains. With consistent performance, stewards can progress to F&B service associate and captain roles in hotels and restaurants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay and clear tables according to restaurant service standards
- Assist captains with serving food and beverages to guests
- Refill water, condiments and cutlery during service
- Keep side stations, trolleys and service areas clean
- Help with banquet set-up when the outlet is busy
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Freshers welcome; hotel management diploma students encouraged
- Basic Tamil and English communication
- Pleasant, well-groomed and guest-friendly attitude
- Willingness to work shifts and weekends
- Eagerness to learn service etiquette
Preferred Experience
Internship or industrial training in a hotel or restaurant.
